Memoir Entry #3- Favoritism and its Perils

I think we all have times in our lives when we feel like we aren't being treated fairly. I remember feeling this way when I was in high school. I had a Spanish teacher who would constantly compare me to my brother. No matter how hard I tried or how well I did, she would always tell me that I wasn't good enough and that my brother was so much better than me. She would even make comments about how wonderful he was in front of the whole class, and I felt terrible. I never could understand why she favored my brother over me, but it really shaped who I have become as a teacher. I make sure to treat all of the siblings I have taught as individuals and not to compare them.

Memoir Entry #2- Chap. 2 Special Relative story

One of the most profound relationships I have is with my mother. She really is my rock, and I feel fortunate that I have someone who I can laugh with and cry with. From the time I was a small child, I had a unique connection with her, and I've always felt blessed to have such an open relationship with my mother. I remember being a teenager when most of my friends hated their moms, and I couldn't imagine having that feeling. She has this amazing ability to make everyone she meets feel like they are truly special. I someday hope to a mother, and if I have 1/8 of my mom's gifts and genuine kindness, my son or daughter will be very fortunate.

Memoir Entry #1 -Chap. 1- Special School Memory

One of the best memories I have from school is when at the end of my undergraduate studies, I had maintained a 4.0 average. I remember working really hard. I spent hours studying and put so much effort into writing my papers.

My family was really proud of me because not only did I get straight A's in college, but I was also the first woman in my family to graduate from college. It was a special accomplishment and one I will never forget.
